PORTFOLIO REVIEW 2022
One winner of the Portfolio Review will be awarded a solo exhibition at the Kranj Foto Fest 2023
Dear photographers,
We invite you to present your work at the Kranj Foto Fest Portfolio Review, which will take place on Friday, August 26 2022, in Kranj, Slovenia, during the opening week of the International Festival of Contemporary Photography Kranj Foto Fest.
At the Portfolio Review, curators, photographers, publishers, gallerists and festival organizers will discuss your work by giving you precious insights during one-to-one sessions.
Not only that! One winner of the Portfolio Review will be awarded a solo exhibition at the Kranj Foto Fest 2023.
In 2021, photographer Lin Gerkman (b. 1995, Slovenia) was the winner of the Portfolio Review. He is having a solo exhibition at Layerjeva Hiša in the program of the Kranj Foto Fest 2022.

RULES
The Kranj Foto Fest Portfolio Review is open to Slovenian and foreign photographers;
We kindly ask you to apply with a series of photographs and not with individual photographs;
The Portfolio Review will take place in Kranj, Slovenia, on August 26, 2022, in the morning. By being selected to participate in the reviews, the photographers should be able to travel to Kranj by their expenses to participate in the sessions. It will not be possible to participate online;
From all the submissions, the Kranj Foto Fest team will select the ones who will take part in the Portfolio Review;
Applicants will be notified about the results by email until August 19, 2022.
FEE
In the case of selection, the fee for participation is 50,00€.
The fee for students, residents from the Municipality of Kranj or attendees of other payable programs at Kranj Foto Fest is 40,00€.
HOW TO APPLY
You can apply with up to two series of photos;
Each series should consist of 4-8 photographs;
Format: 1000 px per longer page, jpg, RGB;
File naming: Name_LastName_Name_of_series_01.jpg (naming photos should follow as follows in the series);
Application naming: KFF 2022_Portfolio Review Application – (name, last name);
All photos should be in a .zip folder;
The maximum size should not surpass 5MB;
Each series should be accompanied by a short statement (maximum 300 characters with spaces) in English or Slovene language;
Each application must also contain a short biography/CV (maximum 500 characters with spaces) in English or Slovene language.
PREFERENTIAL REVIEWERS
You can send the names of 3 reviewers with whom you would like to meet. We will try our best to comply with your request.
ON THE DAY OF THE REVIEWS
The Kranj Foto Fest Portfolio Review will take place on Friday, 26 August 2022, in the morning, in Kranj, Slovenia;
The exact time and schedule will be known by August 19, 2022, at the latest;
It is expected that each applicant will meet with five reviewers;
The Portfolio Review will take place as a one-to-one conversation.
Each photographer needs to bring their own photo series, either printed or in digital format;
The Kranj Foto Fest cannot provide projectors or computers. Photographers must take care of the presentation themselves.
Advice: Some reviewers prefer to evaluate printed photographs.
