Michaela Bosáková has been an independent curator since 2017 when she ended her work at Photon Gallery in Vienna. Before that, she had been collecting experience mainly within the Central European House of Photography in Bratislava, Slovakia, as the head curator and project manager of the largest encyclopedia on European photography The History of European Photography 1900-2000 between 2010 and 2016. She also cooperated and co-organized the festival Month of Photography in Bratislava, and European Month of Photography in Bratislava, Vienna, Budapest, Paris, Luxembourg, Athens, and Ljubljana.

As a curator and critic, she took part in many domestic and international juries,
including photobook juries, photo contests and portfolio reviews (The British Journal of Photography, World Press Photo Joop Award, photo festivals in Houston, Braga, Kaunas, Nida, Arles, Kaliningrad, Kyiv, Photovisa, Vienna, Month of Photography in Athens, Berlin, Luxembourg, and many more). She organised numerous exhibitions in Slovakia as well as around Europe, and lectured in many countries.

Currently, she is a co-organizer of the OFF Academy section at the festival OFF Bratislava, works as a partial curator and PR for Month of Photography in Bratislava, and as an independent curator.
