Amin Yousefi
Assistant Curator at Photoworks and Editor of Photography+
Brief info
Amin Yousefi is an Iranian artist, curator and writer based in London. He is an assistant curator at Photoworks and the editor of Photography+. Working across photography, archival material, text, moving image and installation, his practice examines how photographs mediate political events and historical experience. He is particularly interested in the relationships between photographers, photographed subjects and viewers, and in how photographs come to be treated as historical evidence. His work often returns to existing images and documents to examine how their meanings change through reproduction, circulation and archival use. His writing on photography has appeared in Aperture, Foam Magazine and C4 Journal. Yousefi’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at Museum Kunstpalast, Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, Fotografisk Center and Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation. In 2026, he received the C/O Berlin Artist Award. He was selected as a Foam Talent in 2024 and received the Royal Photographic Society’s Award for Achievement in the Art of Photography.
